5 expressões muito usadas em inglês:

1. ‘Speak of the devil’ – é igual ao que dizemos em português, “falar do diabo”. Significa que você está falando de alguém e esta pessoa aparece naquela hora. Ex.: “Hi, Tom, speak of the devil, I was just telling Sara about your new car.” (Oi, Tom! Falando do diabo, eu estava contando para a Sara sobre seu carro novo.)

2. ‘When pigs fly’ – algo que nunca vai acontecer. Ex.: “ When pigs fly she’ll tidy up her room.” (No dia de São Nunca, ela vai arrumar o quarto dela.)

3. ‘A piece of cake’ – algo muito fácil. Ex.: “The English test was a piece of cake.” (A prova de inglês foi moleza.)

4. ‘To feel under the weather’ – sentir-se mal. Ex.: “I’m really feeling under the weather today; I have a terrible cold.” (Estou me sentindo mal hoje; estou com um resfriado fortíssimo.)

5. ‘To cut corners’ – fazer algo mal feito, de forma barata. Fazer nas coxas. Ex.: “They really cut corners when they built this bathroom; the shower is leaking.” (Eles fizeram nas coxas quando construíram esse banheiro; o chuveiro vaza.)
